Power-One appoints UK micro-inverter specialist - Solar Power Portal

Power-One has appointed David Jacobs as product specialist for the inverter manufacturer’s Aurora Micro range of micro-inverters.

The move paves the way for Power-One to make a concerted push into the UK solar market. Commenting on the role that micro-inverters can play in the UK solar market, David Lowen, director of sales for Western Europe Renewable Energy at Power-One, said: “Power-One’s micro-inverters are particularly well-suited for residential applications in the UK, since they optimise the energy harvest in challenging conditions such as partial and temporary shading, panel mismatching or module differential aging. “Micro-inverters are still relatively new in the UK and we are pleased to have David Jacobs in this important role sharing his expertise on micro-inverters with customers. The training sessions, in particular, that David will drive are going to be a great opportunity for both distributors and end-customers to learn more about micro-inverters in general and the advantages of Power-One’s Aurora products.”

Jacobs has worked at Power-One for two years after gaining experience in a number of renewable energy sectors. Jacobs will oversee training sessions with distributors and customers throughout the UK.

The company launched its second generation of micro-inverters in June last year.
